AIR FILTER SERVICE LIFE AND REPLACEMENT

01. What determines the service life of air filter?

In addition to its own advantages and disadvantages, such as: filter material, filter area, structural design, initial resistance, etc., the service life of the filter also depends on the amount of dust generated by the indoor dust source, the dust particles carried by personnel, and the concentration of atmospheric dust particles, related to the actual air volume, final resistance setting and other factors.

02. Why should you replace air filter?

Air filters can be simply divided into primary, medium and hepa air filters according to their filtration efficiency. Long-term operation can easily accumulate dust and particulate matter, affecting the filtration effect and product performance, and even causing harm to the human body. Timely replacement of the air filter can ensure the cleanliness of the air supply, and replacement of the pre-filter can increase the service life of the rear-end filter.

03. How to determine whether air filter needs to be replaced?

The filter is leaking/the pressure sensor is alarming/the filter air velocity has become smaller/the concentration of air pollutants has increased.

If the primary filter resistance is greater than or equal to 2 times the initial operating resistance value, or if it has been used for more than 3 to 6 months, consider replacing it. According to production needs and process usage frequency, regular inspection and maintenance are carried out, and cleaning or cleaning operations are carried out when necessary, including return air vents and other devices.

The resistance of the medium filter is greater than or equal to 2 times the initial resistance value of operation, or it must be replaced after 6 to 12 months of use. Otherwise, the life of the hepa filter will be affected, and the cleanliness of the clean room and the production process will be greatly harmed.

If the resistance of the sub-hepa filter is greater than or equal to 2 times the initial resistance value of operation, the sub-hepa air filter needs to be replaced in one year.

The resistance of the hepa air filter is greater than or equal to 2 times the initial resistance value during operation. Replace the hepa filter every 1.5 to 2 years. When replacing the hepa filter, the primary, medium and sub-hepa filters should be replaced with consistent replacement cycles to ensure the best operation of the system.

The replacement of hepa air filters cannot be based on mechanical factors such as design and time. The best and most scientific basis for replacement is: daily clean room cleanliness testing, exceeding the standard, not meeting the cleanliness requirements, affecting or may affect the process. After testing the clean room with a particle counter, consider replacing the hepa air filter based on the value of the end pressure difference gauge.

The maintenance and replacement of front-end air filtration devices in clean rooms such as junior, medium and sub-hepa filter meet standards and requirements, which is beneficial to increasing the service life of hepa filters, increasing the replacement cycle of hepa filters, and improving user benefits.

04. How to replace air filter?

①. Professionals wear safety equipment (gloves, masks, safety glasses) and gradually remove filters that have reached the end of their service life according to the steps for disassembly, assembly and use of filters.

②.After disassembly is complete, discard the old air filter into a waste bag and disinfect it.

③.Install new air filter.
