MATERIAL PURIFICATION IN CLEAN ROOM

In order to reduce the contamination of the purification area of the clean room by pollutants on the outer packaging of materials, the outer surfaces of raw and auxiliary materials, packaging materials and other items entering clean room should be cleaned or the outer layer should be peeled off in material purification room. The packaging materials are transferred through pass box or are placed on clean pallet and enter medical clean room through air lock.

The clean room is a production place where aseptic operations are performed, so the items entering clean room(including their outer packaging) should be in a sterile state. For items that can be heat sterilized, a double door steam or dry heat sterilization cabinet is a suitable choice. For sterilized items (such as sterile powder), thermal sterilization cannot be used to sterilize the outer packaging. One of the traditional methods is to set up a pass box with a purification device and an ultraviolet disinfection lamp inside pass box. However, this approach has limited effect on eliminating surface microbial contaminants. Microbial contaminants still exist in places where ultraviolet light does not reach.

Gaseous hydrogen peroxide is currently a good choice. It can effectively kill bacterial spores, dry and act quickly. During the disinfection and sterilization process, hydrogen peroxide is reduced to water and oxygen. Compared with other chemical sterilization methods, there is no harmful residue and it is an ideal surface sterilization method.

In order to block air flow between clean room and material purification room or sterilization room and maintain the pressure difference between medical clean room, the material transfer between them should pass through an air lock or pass box. If a double-door sterilization cabinet is used, since the doors on both sides of the sterilization cabinet can be opened at different times, there is no need to install an additional air lock. For electronic product production workshops, food production workshops, pharmaceutical or medical supplies production workshops, etc, it is necessary to purify materials entering clean room.
