RELATED TERMS ABOUT CLEAN ROOM

clean room
clean room facility

1. Cleanliness

It is used to characterize the size and quantity of particles contained in air per unit volume of space, and is a standard for distinguishing the cleanliness of a space.

2. Dust concentration

The number of suspended particles per unit volume of air.

3. Empty state

The clean room facility has been built and all power is connected and running, but there are no production equipment, materials or personnel.

4. Static status

All are completed and fully equipped, the purification air conditioning system is operating normally, and there are no personnel on site. The state of the clean room where the production equipment has been installed but not in operation; or the state of the clean room after the production equipment has stopped operating and has been self-cleaning for the specified time; or the state of the clean room is operating in a manner agreed upon by both parties (the builder and the construction party).

5. Dynamic status

The facility operates as specified, has specified personnel present, and performs work under agreed-upon conditions.

6. Self-cleaning time

This refers to the time when clean room starts to supply air to the room according to the designed air exchange frequency, and the dust concentration in clean room reaches the designed cleanliness level. What we are going to see below is the self-cleaning time of different levels of clean rooms.

①. Class 100000: no more than 40min (minutes);

②. Class 10000: no more than 30min (minutes);

③. Class 1000: no more than 20min (minutes).

④. Class 100: no more than 3min (minutes).

7. Airlock room

A airlock room is installed at the entrance and exit of the clean room to block the polluted air flow outside or in adjacent rooms and to control the pressure difference.

8. Air shower

A room where personnel are purified according to certain procedures before entering the clean area. By installing fans, filters and control systems to purge the entire body of people entering clean room, it is one of the effective ways to reduce external pollution.

9. Cargo air shower

A room where materials are purified according to certain procedures before entering the clean area. By installing fans, filters and control systems to purge materials, it is one of the effective ways to reduce external pollution.

10. Clean room garment

Clean clothing with low dust emission used to minimize the particles generated by workers.

11. HEPA filter

Under the rated air volume, the air filter has a collection efficiency of more than 99.9% for particles with a particle size of 0.3μm or more and an air flow resistance of less than 250Pa.

12. Ultra HEPA filter

An air filter with a collection efficiency of over 99.999% for particles with a particle size of 0.1 to 0.2μm and an air flow resistance of less than 280Pa under rated air volume.
